The award carries her name in recognition of what encouragement, education and access to opportunity can mean in shaping a young person’s future.
It stands for the principle at the heart of this initiative: that investing in a child’s education creates opportunities whose full impact may only be seen many years later. Through the award, that principle is passed forward to a new generation.

The Jamuna Technology Award is an educational initiative established in 2026 with a single purpose: to give students access to technology that supports their education, builds their digital skills and opens new paths for their future.
The award reflects a quiet conviction: that the right resource, offered at the right moment, can change the course of a young life.
A small opportunity, offered at the right time, can have an impact that lasts a lifetime.
The 2026 award
Four students. Four laptops.
The inaugural award is presented in partnership with Little Flower School in Narayangarh, Nepal. Four students chosen by the school will each receive a professionally refurbished, business-grade laptop, theirs to keep for the rest of their education.
The aim is not simply to hand over a computer. It is to give each student a tool for learning, exploring and creating, and for building skills that will serve them long after they leave the classroom.
Why it matters
A window beyond the textbook
Technology is now woven through every part of modern education. A personal computer lets a student reach far beyond their textbooks: to research independently, develop practical skills, learn new technologies and discover the interests that may one day shape their studies and career.
Each laptop is an invitation to explore what technology makes possible.

Recipients are selected independently by Little Flower School, through a panel of teachers who understand their students and their individual circumstances.
